Our new space is about 85% set up and efficiency has increased considerably! Already the bookshelves are full to over-flowing with many book donations. We have also mailed out 17 boxes along with our ongoing drop-offs to nearby locations.
This month has also added new jails. Aba, who works with Books Inside in CA, began making cold calls to Wyoming jails. She found nine! locations with few books, and we have already sent them their first boxes.
AND an energized Salt Lake volunteer began wondering about what books were available in the jail in her home town county in Texas. After a few calls the answer was "We were just talking about where to get books as few are available here! Yes! Please send some!"
As of this month we are sending boxes to jails in seven states.
